Galaxy Note20 Ultra is the first smartphone to use Gorilla Glass Victus, falling 2 meters without breaking

Last week, Corning unveiled its new toughened glass, called Gorilla Glass Victus. This is an upgraded version of Gorilla Glass 6 released nearly 2 years ago. In this version, smartphone models equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus will be resistant from 2 meters high, while improving scratch resistance.

At the Galaxy Unpacked event held yesterday, Samsung introduced the new Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra duo. While the standard version is pretty much cut in terms of finishing materials, screens and cameras, in the Ultra version, besides the top-class features, this is also the first smartphone to be equipped with tempered glass. According to Corning, the new Gorilla Glass Victus can help smartphones survive falling at an altitude of up to 2 meters to hard ground, while improving the ability to scratch twice as fast as the Gorilla Glass generation. 6.

Samsung said it is also working with Corning to be able to equip Gorilla Glass toughened glass on future foldable smartphones. Currently Galaxy Z Fold2 is still only equipped with UTG glass and a thin firm plastic layer to protect the screen.
